As a Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES®), I am here to help you whether you are selling a home full of memories that you have lived in for years, thinking of purchasing a home in an active adult community, selling such a home because you feel it’s time to move to a continuing care community, or are moving in with adult children. Whatever reason you may have for considering a move, you can depend on me to guide you through every part of the process. First, the term “Active Adult Community” covers a wide range of options in which you own your own home. Saintsbury Plaza in Fairfax, Virginia comprises four mid-rise buildings with 111 two and three bedroom condominiums. Amenities include several meeting rooms, a library, exercise room, a catering kitchen and concierge services. With nearly 1,900 detached homes and condominiums arranged around an 18-hole golf course on roughly 750 acres of land, Heritage Hunt Golf and Country Club, a gated community in Gainesville, Virginia, occupies the opposite end of the active adult community spectrum. In addition to golf, amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, a large fitness center, tennis courts, bocce courts, and pickle ball courts. There are smaller gated communities as well as more traditional townhouse communities featuring main level bedrooms and varying levels of fitness activities. Choosing the right community may not be as simple as you think, and that’s one of the many ways I can be of assistance as you ponder your options. My extensive training and experience have prepared me to:
  • Help you manage the financial and emotional challenges of selling a long-held family home.
  • Create a customized plan to market and sell your current property.
  • Understand your unique needs to ensure your new home meets those needs now and in the future.
  • Utilize my specialized knowledge in reverse mortgages, 401(k) accounts, and IRAs to facilitate your real estate transaction(s).
  • Connect you with a network of movers, attorneys, home inspectors, and other experts to help you through the process.
In fact, if you are reluctant to move, I’ll be happy to go over your home with you to begin assessing whether you could continue to age in place with a few modifications to the home. I’ll then suggest several Certified Age-in-Place Specialists (CAPS) who can help you develop a plan and budget for the necessary modifications. My mission is to help you move when you are ready, but until then, I want to be the resource you feel confident turning to for real estate advice. SRES_Black
