Reston had a population of more than 63,000 in 2020, one-quarter of whom were 18 years old or older. Seventeen percent of the population was 65 years old or older. Nearly 40% of residents were renters. The median value of homes owned by the remaining 61% was $592,000. Seventy-two percent of residents over the age of 25 reported having at least a Bachelor’s degree.

Forty-four homes sold in January 2024 for an average price of $617,500. That figure represented a 4.6% decline from the previous month but a 20.2% increase compared with January 2023.
